overwhelmed!!

I find searching around the web for things completely overwhelming and time consuming. I can spend hours and feel I have not really gotten what i was looking for.

However, I think that this is a good experience because it helps me realize what my students go through. In one of the articles (I read so much I really do not remember which one) it mentioned how we (teachers) are still needed as guides to the students because even though they may be more tech savvy, they do not necessarily possess the ability to effectively filter the information. I think I am developing empathy with them and hope that by the end of this course I am also better and filtering all the info.

  1. Your comments are dead on ... if we struggle as educators navigating through the mounds of information on the internet, just think of how our students feel.

  2. Yes, sometimes I think that one of the best things about taking classes that challenge me is that it really helps me develop empathy for what students are going through in my class.

  3. I agree with Randy and you, Mary! I always seem to get sucked into something else. It doesn't help that I am "techno" enough to want to have fifteen tabs open: one for my gmail to chat with friends, one for facebook, one for twitter, one for cnn, and the list goes on. Meanwhile I also have six tabs open for this class...

Some days I wonder if I can ever get it organized!
